Yougetitback.com is a lost and found service that mediates between owners and finders of lost or stolen items to arrange their safe return the rightful owners.

 | How does this service work?
By combining the use of Yougetitback.com's high tech, uniquely coded ID tags,
our state of the art database and our recovery service, we endeavour to return
your lost items to you as soon as they are found. We can also act as an intermediary
between owner and finder, so all your personal information remains personal.

 | Why is this service required?
One of the features of modern "life-on-the-go" means we're all carrying around
an increasing number of portable valuables. From mobile phones and mp3 players
to digital cameras and laptop PC's, most of us carry upwards of € 200 in unmarked,
unidentifiable valuables around with us. And because they are portable - they
sometimes get lost. Many of these items contain valuable if not priceless information.
Pictures, music, personal and corporate information - data that can be time consuming
and costly, even impossible, to recreate or replace. Without a security tag, most
lost items stay lost for good - but with Yougetitback.com, up to 75% of all lost
items get returned. |
 | Are people really that honest?
Surprisingly, the answer is yes... most of the time! Practice has shown that up
to 75-78 % of items are returned by finders if it is easy for them to do so, and
if it does not cost them anything. All our tags feature a Finder's Freefone number.
As an added incentive, all finders of Yougetitback.com tagged items receive a
small reward. |
 | What kind of items can I put Yougetitback.com tags on?
Basically, anything that's valuable enough to you that you'd like to maximise
its chances of being returned should you ever lose it. Popular choices include
mobile phones, laptops, iPods & mp3 players, PDAs, sports gear like tennis racquets,
golf clubs and fishing rods, travel items like luggage, rucksacks and briefcases.

 | What do I do then?
After you have purchased your tags or received them as a present, apply one of
them to the item you wish to protect. You then have a number of options to Activate
the tag. Online: From the homepage of www.yougetitback.com click Activate then
follow the on-screen instructions. Phone: You can call us 24/7 at +_353 (0)21
4824358. By post: Write to - Yougetitback Limited, Nore House, Bessboro Road,
Blackrock, Cork, Ireland. You must Activate your tag so that Yougetitback.com
can mediate the return of your lost item. Each tag has a unique reference number
that's assigned to you when you Activate it. Our staff can then match this recovered
item with its unique number to you, should you ever lose it. |
 | What happens if something I own gets lost?
You don't have to do anything, but you can notify us through our website in the
Lost & Foundsection. For security reasons we will ask you to login to your account
first. You can also phone us on +353 21 4824358 to inform us of any special instructions
you may have. Either way we will contact youas soon as your item is found. |
 | Why should I use Yougetitback.com tags instead of writing my name on my
assets?
It's never a good idea to identify your personal assets with personal data as
this could be used against you if it fell into the wrong hands. For example your
name and address on a luggage tag at an airport could let potential thieves know
you are away. Using Yougetitback.com security tags makes it easy for finders to
return lost items while offering them a small reward as token of our appreciation
for their help. (We will send the finder a £20 Yougetitback.com gift-pack
at no cost to you). However you may wish to offer an extra cash reward at your
own expense - this is strictly optional.

 | How does Yougetitback.com protect my privacy?
Yougetitback.com mediate the return of Yougetitback.com tagged items. We keep
the information on both finder and owner private. If however both parties wish
to contact each other directly, we can arrange that also. For information on our

 | How much does it cost to have my item returned?
There are a number of options for the return of an item: * You can collect it
yourself at no cost, provided the finder is willing to meet you. * It can be returned
to you by Premium Courier Service at an agreed charge. Information on the delivery
charge is available on request from info@yougetitback.com, or by calling us on
+353 (0)21 482 4358. * It can be collected by taxi and delivered to you. This
cost you must pay to the taxi company directly. |
 | What happens if the ownership of an item with a Yougetitback.com tag on
it changes?
One of the benefits of Yougetitback.com tags is that they can easily be transferred
to a new owner, and at no cost. All you have to do is delete the tag number in
question from your account, leaving the remaining period of cover free for the
new owner to re-activate with their own details. A handy incentive if you're ever
selling anything on e-bay or Buy & Sell! |
 | How is a tag deleted?
To delete a tag login to My Account and select View My Tags. Then click the red
check marks against the item you wish to delete. If you still wish to remove the
tag from your list of items, press delete again. The tag is now permanently deleted
from your account. |
 | What is the reward for return?
Once it has been confirmed that the found item has been returned to the owner,
Yougetitback.com send the finder a Yougetitback.com gift pack to the value of
€ 20, at no cost to the owner. However owners may offer a cash reward if they
wish. This cash reward will be debited from the owner's account by credit or laser
card, and sent to the finder along with our gift pack. The cash reward is strictly
optional. |
 | How long will your security tags protect my assets for?
Most tags will protect your assets for 3 years, but some promotional or free tags
may have a shorter lifespan. The lifespan of any tag can be extended by three
years by pressing the "Extend Life" button and following the instructions on screen. |
 | It's 4.00am and I've found something, can I ring Yougetitback.com now?
Yes you can! We work 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to help get lost items back
to their rightful owners. However, out of courtesy to owners we don't contact
them to advise them their property has been recovered after 10pm or before 8am. |
 | Some letters and numbers on the tags look the same, how can I tell them
apart?
To avoid confusion we do not use the letters B, D, I, O or S on our tags, as these
look similar to some numbers. If you are trying to enter an ID using any of these,
try using the numbers 8, 0, 1, 0 or 5 instead. |
 | I've just found something with a Yougetitback.com tag. What do I do now?
First of all - thank you for your help! Yougetitback.com have made it easy for
finders to return items. You can either ring the Freefone number 00800 1250 1250,
or use the Yougetitback.com
website (both are displayed on our security tags). Our Yougetitback.com staff
will then mediate the return of the item. |
 | How should I apply the tags?
Please ensure that the tag is applied to a clean, dry surface. Please don't apply
the tag on curved or sharp surfaces. Maximum adhesion is achieved after 72 hours. |
 | What happens if I lose something while I am abroad?
The system still works in much the same way. The finder can contact us through
our website address displayed on the tag and we will mediate the return of your
lost item. |
 | How do I change my account information?
Your account information can be changed by going to My Account on the Yougetitback.com
website. You will then be asked for a username and password before being allowed
access to your account. |
