Sync up your compatible Bluetooth phone and manage your calls through the sat-nav. By keeping both hands on the wheel and your eyes on the road, you can give the drive your full attention and avoid breaking the law. Find and dial phone numbers in your mobile address book or nuvi"s points of interest database on command. nüvi also has an integral FM transmitter, which broadcasts your phone calls, turn-by-turn directions, street names, MP3s and audio books through your car stereo for a safer drive in total control.

Traffic avoidance
Just tap the screen for dependable delay information from nuvi 860"s built-in lifetime traffic alerts. A traffic receiver tracks any jams, accidents and roadworks on your route in real-time for journey planning and traffic avoidance. Garmin traffic alerts use data from 8000 traffic flow cameras and sensors located every two miles along major routes in England, Wales and Scotland for an accurate picture of the road situation. Data from the Highways Agency, police traffic control centres and other reliable sources verifies this information for traffic news as it happens.

Enhanced navigation
The nuvi 860 is packed with enhanced navigation tools. Park position recall makes sure you never lose your car, automatically marking the place you take the sat-nav off the windscreen as a point on the map. When you want to return to the car, just ask Garmin to find your "Last Position" and it guides you back there on foot.

Redefine sightseeing with photo navigation. Plan trips to landmarks and attractions simply and easily before you set off. Just choose and save location-tagged photographs from millions of Google Panoramio pictures in a wish-list of places to visit. Then, at your leisure, select a photo destination for turn-by-turn directions to the scene.

nuvi 860"s route-planning features help you make sense of a longer or more complicated journey. You can save up to 10 routes, specify via points and preview simulated turns. Garmin automatically sorts multiple destinations into the most efficient route for errands, deliveries or sales calls. Wherever you go, Garmin builds up a Track Log of up to 10,000 points, which can be downloaded and viewed through Google Earth.

Simple and safety-minded
nuvi 860"s built-in Cyclops safety camera database contains details on hundreds of fixed, mobile and temporary safety cameras, variable limit and red light speed cameras across Europe. When you approach a camera, it sounds an alert and shows an overspeed warning and the speed limit to help you travel responsibly.

With preloaded City Navigator NT European street maps and up to millions of points of interest, nuvi 860 helps you navigate in 33 countries across the continent. Simply touch the colour screen or activate speech recognition and speak your commands for turn-by-turn spoken directions to your destination. It even announces the names of exits and streets so you never need to take your eyes off the road.

The Garmin Lock, anti-theft protection system uses GPS to lock the unit to a secure location of your choice.
