The Panasonic HDC-SD90 is a compact SD card camcorder that features a 28mm wide-angle 21x zoom lens. The Intelligent Zoom function incorporates the Image Processing LSI "Crystal Engine PRO," a super-high resolution technology to achieve ultra-telephoto 40x shooting beyond the optical zoom range of 21x. The HYBRID O.I.S. image stabilization system detects even subtle movement and corrects it optically in the lens and electronically in the sensor. The Panasonic's iA (Intelligent Auto) mode consists of six functions: Face Recognition, new HYBRID O.I.S., AF/AE Tracking, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection and Intelligent Contrast Control. The camcorder senses the shooting conditions and automatically makes the settings and activates functions that will deliver optimal results. The optional VW-CLT1 conversion lens utilises the 3MOS sensor and allows the Panasonic HDC-SD90 to record real 3D images.

HYBRID O.I.S. is an optical/electrical image stabilization system. Further to blurring by vertical/horizontal wrist movements, it detects subtle blurring by vertical/horizontal entire arm movement and corrects them using a lens in the optical system and a sensor in electrical system. In electrical image stabilization, utilizing an unused area of the sensor when zooming, suppresses image degradation. Powerful correction realizes beautiful images even when shooting on the move or zooming.

The iA (Intelligent Auto), consists of six functions: Face Recognition, new HYBRID O.I.S., AF/AE Tracking, Intelligent Scene Selector, Face Detection and Intelligent Contrast Control, senses the shooting conditions and automatically makes the settings and activates functions that will deliver optimal results.
